Fall Season

Cross Country. The Boys Cross Country Team finished 4th overall in the BWAC, with the Girls’ team placing 5th. Kaleb Manska and Brianna Albers earned All-BWAC recognition. Brianna also qualified for the State Meet individually.

Football. Varsity Football finished 3-6. Kyle Bartolomucci, Noah Harris, and Trey Graham received 1st team All-BWAC selections. While Cole Murphy and Conner Bergeon were Honorable Mention All-BWAC.

Golf (Girls). The Girls Golf Team finished 6th in league play but improved to a 4th place finish at the League Tournament. Jaelyn Jozwiak earned an All-Conference selection.

Soccer (Boys). The Boys Soccer Team finished the season 9-4-1 overall. Their 9-2-1 conference record was good enough for a second-place finish. Drew Matyunas was selected as BWAC MVP for the second year in a row, as well as earning 1st team All-State honors. In addition to Drew, Jacksen Gil and Ryan Kukuk were earned 1st team All-BWAC. Gavin Yelencich and John Gibbons were Honorable Mention All- BWAC.

Volleyball. The Varsity Volleyball Team finished with an overall record of 23-24. The girls advanced to the district final. Piper Clark earned 1st team All-BWAC, while Alayna Esselink and Lauren Gray were Honorable Mention All-BWAC 

Tennis (Boys). Boys Tennis finished 0-5 in league play and 6th at the BWAC tournament.

 

Winter Season

Boys Basketball. The Varsity Boys Basketball Team earned a share of the BWAC title with a 13-1 conference record and a 23-3 record overall. The boys earned a District Championship by defeating Armada at RHS. D’Quan Haskins and Karl Stevens were named 1st Team All-BWAC. Marcus Thompson and Kyle Bartolomucci were Honorable Mention All-BWAC, while Trey Graham made the All-BWAC Defensive Team.

Girls Basketball. The Varsity Girls Basketball Team finished the season 3-18 overall and 1-12 in the BWAC. Kosette Bartels were named 1st Team All-BWAC, while Liz Kocher and Lauren Teltow were Honorable Mention.

Wrestling. The Varsity Wrestling Team finished the season 20-12 overall and 6-1 in league duals. Their record and 2nd place team finish at the BWAC Tournament earned them a second-place finish. Five wrestlers qualified for the Individual State Finals at Ford Field: Eddie Olson, Brady St. John, Wyatt Peters, Noah Harris, and Matthew Misch. Matthew placed 6th while Noah finished as State Runner-Up.

Bowling. The Varsity Boys Bowling Team finished 4-8-1 in league play, finishing 5th. The Varsity Girls Bowling Team compiled an 8-6 league record, finishing 4th overall.

Competitive Cheer. The Varsity Cheer Team went unbeaten in BWAC competitions. The girls qualified for the State Finals where they finished 3rd. Nicole Ostaszewski was awarded BWAC MVP. Ella Allen, Issabelle Riggs, Isabella Cracchiolo, and Annabelle Loftis earned 1st Team All-BWAC. Lainey Yaek and Riley Bartolone earned BWAC Honorable Mention. Coach Matthes was named BWAC Coach of the Year.

 

Spring Season

Baseball. The Varsity Baseball Team finished second in the BWAC with an 11-3 conference record and a 17-7 overall record. Seniors Grant VanSlambrouk, Brice Wesley, and Trey Taylor were 1st-Team All-Conference while Skylar Louwers and Jackson Jones were BWAC Honorable Mention.

Golf (Boys). The Boys Golf Team recorded their first BWAC match win in quite some time. The popularity of the team grew immensely this season, fielding both a Varsity and a JV team. Joe Simmons was named 1st Team All-Conference while Logan Northam was BWAC Honorable Mention.

Soccer (Girls). The Girls Soccer Team finished the regular season undefeated, claiming a BWAC Title. Liz Kocher, Belle Fair, Kosette Bartels, and Rylie Jacques were 1st Team All-Conference. Aubrie Rush and Kaylee Backers were BWAC Honorable Mention.

Softball. The Blue Devil Softball Team finished the season 9-5 in the BWAC. Piper Clark, Katie Shuboy, and Ashley Stafford were named 1st-Team All-Conference while Liz Shuboy and Emma Bambrick were BWAC Honorable Mention. In the District Tournament, the ladies won two thrilling games. The first was a 4-2 extra inning effort against Marysville. In the District Final, the Blue Devils defeated St. Clair 11-9.

Trap Team. The High School Trap Team finished the season at the top of the 1A-Confrerence 11. They will compete at the State Championship on June 17th. Two teams will represent the Blue Devils at the National Tournament. Nate Fraley, Ethan DeLange, Evan Grewe, Frankie Collins, Brody Bontomasi comprise the first team. Chole Franzosi, Evan Plonka, Nate Gignac, Hayden Paehlig, Lilly Keller comprises the second team. Nationals will be held in Mason, July 6-9.

Tennis (Girls). The Girls’ Tennis Team finished the season with a record of 2-4-1, earning a 6th place finish at the BWAC tournament. Ella Allen was 1st Team All-Conference and coach Brian Roodbeen was named Coach of the Year for Macomb Country Class B-C-D.

Track (Boys). The Varsity Track Team saw another increase in participation for both teams. The boys finished 5th at the BWAC League Meet, while the team finished 7th. Joe Pacitto, Drew Matyunas, Brady Morelli, Nathan Year, Lavon Edwards, Joseph Hollister, Riley Sabens, Brianna Albers, Lainee Wagner, and Brianna Pauley were all named All-Conference.
