Tonights Middle School Boys Basketball games have been cancelled. Varsity Cheer, Bowling, and Wrestling are still a go. Please drive safe #GoBlueDevils

Road conditions and temperature forecast have not improved, Richmond Community Schools will be closed on Wednesday, January 24, 2024. Exams scheduled for Wednesday will be moved to Thursday.

As of now, Richmond Community Schools will be OPEN on Wednesday, January 24th. However, the rain and temperatures and their impact on back roads are being monitored. If the weather forecast or road conditions change, you will be notified as soon as possible. Please have a "Plan B" if schools are closed.

Fifth grade students from Mrs. Hutchinson’s class had a ton of fun at their Macaroni Car Derby last week in STEAM class! They worked really hard on their cars testing, and rebuilding to figure out what works, what makes them go further, what makes them go faster, etc. Mrs. Gibson is so proud of all their hard work!

The first meet was a success for the RHS Powerlifting Team! In addition to over 20 Blue Devil competitors, JV lifters Jordyn Jones, Ryley Pastuschyn, Sophia Jackson, and Leah Dimmabro punched thier tickets to the State Championships later this winter. #GoBlueDevils

Varsity Wrestling brought home the gold from the Fenton Duals on Saturday. They scored wins over Fenton, Midland Dow, Clio, Ann Arbor Huron, and South Lyon. #GoBlueDevils

Based on the weather forecast of rain and snow coupled with temperatures and windchills below freezing, Richmond Community Schools will be closed on Tuesday, January 23, 2024. The middle and high school exams scheduled for Tuesday, will be moved to Wednesday when staff and students are scheduled to return.

6th grade Algebraic Thinking students completed a quiz quiz trade with each other on graphing inequalities.

Congratulations to our Honors Chorale for earning a first division rating and qualifying for the State Festival at the District 16 Solo and Ensemble Festival held at Chippewa Valley on Friday night 🎶 Freshman Claire Millbrand prepared a Solo and also qualified for the State festival with a first division rating! The accompanist and director for the event was our newly hired addition to the music department, Mrs. Michele Maples 🎶 Great job ladies representing our district with professionalism and class.

🎉Congratulations to RMS band students on their superior rating! Richmond Middle School band sent two events to Michigan School Band and Orchestra Association District 16 Solo and Ensemble festival held on Saturday, January 20, at Rochester High School.  Musical events were rated by a judge and given a rating one to five, with one being considered superior. RMS had two events participate in this festival both earning a strong first division rating!!

Basketball Recap: Boys Basketball hosted Imlay City on Thursday. Varsity played the Spartans tough. Final: RHS 46 - IC 56 The Girls Varsity Basketball team hosted the Spartans on Friday. A strong 2nd half effort helped close the gap. Final: RHS 27 - IC 52 #GoBlueDevils

Congratulations to Pauline Chapman who won the 100lb weight class at the Birmingham Groves Lady Falcon Wrestling Invitational. She knocked off the #3 and #5 ranked female wrestlers on her way to the gold! #GoBlueDevils

Mrs. Munro’s class has been working hard on their division unit using online tools/practice, whiteboards, and teamwork!

8th grade math intro students continued to review creating and analyzing scatter plots by weighing and timing their zip line creations!

The RMS Spanish Club had a great meeting this week. We rang in 2024 by participating in some New Years traditions from around the world. 🌎 Best wishes and a happy new year! Prospero año.
