February is full of spirit at Richmond Middle School. It's spirit overload💙

Our third Duck Days is approaching for the middle school and Lee Elementary on February 15th. Duck Days is part of our K-8 Accelerated Reader Program. When students reach their reading goals within the Duck Days time period, they get to choose a Duck. Take a minute and vote on your favorite Duck Days bulletin board #1, #2 or # 3 and students keep up the great job reading.

The RMS Student Council met today and worked on spreading Kindness around the middle school. Tomorrow signs, posters and banners will be hung sharing words of Kindness ♥️🧡💛💚💜

Students in Algebraic Thinking practiced a quiz-quiz-trade on exponents and order of operations!

Today students in theater 7/8 class were developing characters based on an article of clothing they were given.

Mrs. Schodowski’s ELA classes sharing their creative quick writes by doing the snowball sharing technique. They crumbled their paper, threw them, read others work, and even added to their stories. Today’s pieces shared a grouchy personal description of a piece of broccoli who is causing trouble!

Mrs. Selby’s students are learning lots of strategies to solve long division problems.

7th grade Math students practicing distribution and factoring while working on a card sorting activity with their shoulder partners.

Mrs. Cramton’s 7th grade math students reviewed for their upcoming test by using Versa Tiles to practice combining like terms and distributing to expand expressions.

January Student-Athletes of the Month - Presented by HealthQuest Physical Therapy. Mikey Daleo - Boys Bowling - Mikey led the way for the Blue Devils against North Branch, rolling a 220 game. His average on the season is 173. Alex Dasuqi - Girls Bowling - Alex rolled a 211 against Cros-Lex and has held a 163 average for the season. Both seniors will be honored tonight at Strikers for Senior Night against Armada. #GoBlueDevils

The Blankets for Broken Hearts event at the middle school was a huge success. We received more homemade blankets this year than ever before. There was one gracious family that homemade over 100 blankets of all sizes♥️❤️❤️ Again thank you to each and every person that donated a blanket for this heart warming event♥️♥️♥️

This Week in Blue Devil Athletics

On Wednesday, the Varsity Competitive Cheer team competed at their BWAC Jamboree, placing 3rd. They closed out the week on Friday at the Fraser Invitational. Claiming the title, the Blue Devils scored thier highest scores for the season! #GoBlueDevils

Varsity Wrestling wrapped up league competition this week. On Wednesday, the Blue Devils scored wins over Cros-Lex and Imlay City. Senior Wyatt Peters won his 100th match. On Saturday, the Blue Devils finished 3rd at the BWAC tournament. Matt Misch and Jackson Lacek took 1st place in thier respective weight classes. #GoBlueDevils
