What is your sick policy for children?
The Richmond Early Learning Childhood Center (ELCC) program understands it is hard to find care for your children when emergencies come up. Please do not send students to school when they are not feeling well. If children, staff, and volunteers have a fever of 100 degrees or above. they are not allowed to return to school until they have been fever-free for at least 24 hours. Likewise, children, staff, and volunteers may be sent home if they have a fever of 100 or above, diarrhea or vomiting, any undiagnosed rash, colored discharge from eyes, ears or nose and/or a persistent cough. The health department requires that children with certain communicable diseases be excluded from school until a physician says they are not contagious. These diseases include: • Chicken Pox • Measles • Mumps • Pinworm • Ringworm • Impetigo • Scabies • Pink eye • Lice • Rash that has not been identified If your child is being treated by a doctor, a doctor’s note allowing them to return to school is required. Parents or guardians are required to notify the main office of any communicable disease so protective measures can be taken within the classroom. If your child gets sick at school, parents or guardians will be contacted to pick up their child. If the office staff is unable to contact the parents or guardians, the emergency contact number on the student’s emergency card will be called. The students will be kept as comfortable as possible and isolated until they are picked up. The child must be symptom and fever-free for 24 hours before returning to school.

Do you offer busing?
Busing is available to ECSE and GSRP students who live the Richmond Community School District but outside the walking area. Based on availability.

How do you communicate with parents?
Teachers either use CLASSDOJO or REMIND along with weekly newsletters to communicate with parents and also to upload pictures.
